This project included the design and construction of a new 11,735 square foot building that replaced the original Cameron Elementary School auditorium which was destroyed by Hurricane Rita in 2005. The new structure is completely raised above the flood elevation and is designed for the high wind loads and storm surge loads that are along the Gulf coast portion of Cameron Parish.

The building was primarily being funded through F.E.M.A. as part of the Hurricane Recovery package. The building is designed to host school and community events and conventions. The conference center/auditorium contains a concession stand, a large assembly area that can be converted from a single, large space with a traditional performance stage that seats almost 700 into separate meeting rooms through the use of re-locatable, modular partitions and doors and supporting areas (i.e. restrooms and storage). The building's exterior materials and finishes match the adjacent School Board administration building. The structure features concrete, steel and masonry construction.
